A shared passion for food between two close friends was the inspiration for Madafu, with Rachel being a strict vegetarian and Dania loving all things healthy, albeit a keen meat and fish eater. They have combined their passions to create a line of inspirational vegetarian and mainly raw dishes. bottom-divider-red

Rachel, a journalist by trade, has travelled extensively around Africa and was inspired by the range and flavours of vegetarian food she sampled there. Frustrated by the European obsession of supplementing vegetarian food with processed meat ‘alternatives' and dairy products, she is passionate in her quest to provide real, delicious and above all healthy alternatives to the traditional veggie options.

Quite simply, Rachel feels that food should be tasty and simple, stunning to look at and fun to eat whilst containing absolutely no junk

Dania has spent over 15 years teaching yoga, helping her clientele achieve a healthier body and broader outlook on life. Finding many people struggling to maintain a healthy and interesting diet without putting themselves through a strict and boring regime, Dania was moved to expand her renowned skills for dinner parties, picnics and children's lunchboxes to a wider audience through Madafu.

Having previously worked in fashion and taught art, Dania feels that food should look as good as it tastes and has been inspired to make boring and predictable dishes fun and appetising. It has definitely been noted her artistic talents are as prominent as her culinary ones. With her creations for Madafu she has definitely made this happen with clients in raptures over her creations.
